Mr. Adam McEniry possesses extensive Canadian and global experience managing community, environment, and development issues related to commerce and natural resource sectors.
He is past Vice President Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for First Majestic Silver Corporation where he was responsible for managing community and environmental issues, government, legal and external communications for six operating mines and several exploration projects in Mexico. Prior, he served as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Gran Tierra Energy, where he guided and established standards and procedures for the company’s operations located in Colombia. Previously, he was at Vale Base Metals corporate affairs supporting and managing government (legislative and regulatory) and public affairs issues, including reimaging Thompson Manitoba’s future beyond mining. Under his own consultancy Adam has delivered on numerous projects including sustainability reporting, social environmental baseline and traditional knowledge (TEK) studies and First Nations advisory services.
Adam holds a bachelor’s in international studies (Development and Economics focus), York University, Toronto, Canada, an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University and a Juris Doctorate from Toronto Metropolitan University with a focus on commercial and aboriginal law.
Ashley Nootchtai was hired at the end of November 2023 and brings her experience, working with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek in various roles in the Administration department over the years, to GMS. Her educational background is in paralegal law.
She holds great pride in working with a team who are bringing indigenous prosperity to Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. Ashley is also a band member of Atikameksheng and has 2 daughters. The majority of her family lives on the First Nation, and she has lived there most of her life.
